Tanner Murtagh MSW, RSW

Director/Therapist

(he/him)

My therapeutic approach involves helping clients change their emotional response to the pain or symptoms, reduce fear and preoccupation about the symptoms, attend to emotions in their body with a sense of safety, regulate their nervous system, and process trauma.

In my early 20s, I began to experience anxiety, depression, chronic back pain, hip pain, leg pain, shoulder pain, arm pain, and headaches. At the time I was told I had fibromyalgia and several other conditions, and I felt deeply confused because doctors and healthcare providers could not agree upon what was physically wrong with me. After several years of suffering in daily pain and anxiety, and having little success with various treatments, I realized through my research that nothing was structurally wrong with my body and I had neuroplastic pain. Utilizing the same techniques I use with my clients, I recovered from having symptoms of chronic pain, anxiety, and depression.

Therapist

(she/her)

I am a therapist who utilizes a mind-body approach to help clients eliminate or reduce their chronic pain or other mental health concerns. Years ago, I witnessed my partner suffer in chronic pain and then miraculously make a full recovery after learning about tension myoneural syndrome/neuroplastic pain. I utilize with my clients the same techniques that helped my partner and so many others recover from chronic pain.

I also have years of experience working in the mental health field and have worked with men and women of all ages. I believe in working with peoples’ strengths and that we all have the ability to change regardless of our circumstances.

My therapeutic approach helps clients heal nervous system dysregulation and chronic pain/symptoms by increasing a sense of safety in the mind, body, and environment. I am a male-identifying person, hold Bachelor’s and Master's degrees in Social Work, and have trained extensively in a number of diverse counselling approaches. Growing up, my parents experienced significant chronic pain and fatigue due to traumatic injuries and stress, which has informed my compassion and understanding when providing care. I practice from the perspective that the person is not the problem; the problem is the problem! From this stance, I am very collaborative and interested in each client’s unique developmental experiences, strengths, and beliefs. Working together, we can address pain/symptoms, trauma, social concerns, and mental health holistically, developing new ideas, somatic practices, and daily actions to make life better.

Paul Lapointe MSW, RSW

Therapist

(he/him)

I am a therapist with experience and passion in working with chronic pain and chronic symptoms, anxiety, depression and trauma. My hope is to help clients decrease or eliminate chronic symptoms, overcome challenges with their mental health, and reconnect people to their bodies and emotions to find safety.

My previous education includes completing a degree in Communication and Culture, and an Education Degree and my Masters in Social Work. I have a varied background of experience, working as a paramedic for 10 years, followed by an educator with STARS Air Ambulance for 7 years and now have worked as a Mental Health Therapist for 7 years. Since a young age, I have dealt with chronic conditions, which included shoulder, neck and back pain. Most of these symptoms were from injuries that never seemed to heal. A number of years back, these symptoms spiralled and my long-standing chronic pain issues increased dramatically, I developed digestive issues and repetitive strain injuries. When I was at my worst, these various physical challenges included 30 different symptoms. I was unable to work and even moving was extremely difficult. As a therapist myself, I came across PRT and EAET and overcame these issues to find the light on the other side. This work has now become my passion including addressing depression, anxiety and trauma which are often connected to this work. This passion has led me to provide coaching, education and therapy for many of my clients who have found relief from a life taken over by whether that pain be physical or psychological.

(she/her)

I’m a relational therapist who supports individuals in creating meaningful, lasting change. I strive to offer a collaborative space that feels warm, grounding, and safe enough to gently explore even the most tender or overwhelming parts of your experience.

Together, we’ll work toward healing by addressing the root causes that may be keeping your brain and nervous system in a state of high alert or perceived danger. My approach is grounded in the understanding that all of our experiences are interconnected, and I thoughtfully integrate a range of therapeutic modalities to meet your unique needs.

This integrative approach allows us to care for both mind and body, supporting nervous system regulation, building a greater sense of internal safety, and creating space to process and release stored trauma.

With lived experience of chronic pain and medical trauma, I bring a deep personal understanding and genuine passion to this work.

Therapist

(she/her)

If you’re struggling with symptoms such as chronic pain, stress, depression or relationship difficulties, it can be exhausting and demoralizing. You may have sought help previously with little or no success. My aim is to help you get to the root of your problems so you can begin to heal from your symptoms and move towards a life full of energy, authenticity and purpose.

Our work together may include helping you change your relationship to your pain and other symptoms, learning to regulate anxiety better, identifying past or present stressors and processing underlying emotions that may be contributing to your symptoms. We may identify patterns of thoughts and behaviours that were once adaptive but are no longer workable and perpetuate your symptoms. Once we become truly aware of the underlying feelings, stressors and patterns, we can then freely choose how or if we want to respond to them or make changes in our lives.

I grew up in Winnipeg and worked as a lawyer in Calgary for several years before deciding to follow my passion and become a psychotherapist. I hold a Master of Social Work Degree, Clinical Specialization from the University of Calgary.

Anna Egan MA, RP

Registered Psychotherapist

(she/her)

I am a therapist passionate about helping clients reduce emotional and physical suffering, with a focus on the mind-body connection to support healing from chronic pain and other mental health concerns. Having experienced chronic pain firsthand, I deeply understand how it can affect every aspect of life. Using a compassionate, trauma-informed approach, I collaborate with clients to address nervous system dysregulation, pain, and symptoms holistically.

In our work together, we will explore how chronic pain affects your daily life and uncover the root causes that keep the brain and nervous system on high alert. By fostering a sense of safety in your mind, body, and environment, we will aim to reduce pain, alleviate symptoms, and enhance overall well-being. My approach is tailored to each client's unique experiences, strengths, and beliefs, ensuring that we develop personalized somatic practices and new ways of engaging with life. Together, we will move beyond the challenges that hold you back, creating space for healing, empowerment, and meaningful change.

Before my work in mental health, I spent over two decades studying and practicing contemplative traditions. I draw inspiration from Buddhist and Yoga practices, using them to tap into our innate power to heal.

Usha Ramsaran RP, MACP, BScM

Registered Psychotherapist

(she/her)

I work with people living with chronic and neuroplastic pain and symptoms, trauma, anxiety, depression, and perinatal mental health challenges, including pregnancy, postpartum, and loss. What unites this work is my focus on the body. Healing doesn't happen only in the mind, and I bring over 25 years of hands-on experience to that understanding, first as a massage therapist, then as a Registered Midwife for over a decade, and now as a Registered Psychotherapist.

I treat chronic and neuroplastic pain using Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), helping clients understand that pain generated by a sensitized nervous system can change, and often does. I am a Certified EMDR Therapist trained in EMDR 2.0 and EMDR for Pain, and I use this approach to help clients process both single-incident and chronic trauma, including the physical symptoms that follow. My work is also informed by Compassionate Inquiry, Polyvagal Theory, somatic awareness, and mindfulness practices, woven together in a way that is always tailored to you.

For those navigating the perinatal journey, I bring something few therapists can offer: I have sat with people in labour, held space for loss, and supported families through the full arc of reproductive life. That lived clinical experience shapes every session I offer in this specialty.

I work collaboratively, at your pace, with deep respect for where you are. If you're ready to explore what's possible, I'd be glad to connect.

Joanna Kapron MA, RP(Q)

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

(she/her)

I provide a compassionate approach to working with individuals experiencing chronic pain. Together, we can address the emotional and psychological factors contributing to your persistent pain. Clients receive guidance in understanding the brain's processing of pain and how negative thought patterns and anxiety can intensify physical discomfort. I aim to provide clients with a warm and supportive environment where they can explore the mind-body connection and take active steps toward healing. By combining mindfulness, cognitive behavioural strategies, and somatic techniques, clients can learn to rewrite their pain story, build resilience, and experience freedom from fear and preoccupation.

With over eight years of working with individuals experiencing mental health and addiction struggles, my goal is to support clients to live a life that is authentic and fulfilling.

Ravina Sangha MSW, RSW

Therapist

(she/her)

I’m a bilingual therapist dedicated to supporting individuals as whole, resilient people, not just as the challenges they face. My approach to therapy is relational; in our work together, you can expect a thoughtful balance of compassion and clinical insight. I bring curiosity, respect, and cultural sensitivity into each session, and I tailor my approach to meet your needs, goals, and lived experiences.

My passion for supporting those living with chronic pain developed through working with survivors of catastrophic motor vehicle accidents, many of whom were navigating life-altering and life-threatening injuries. These experiences profoundly shaped my understanding of the mind/body connection and its role in healing. I take a compassionate, evidence-based, and holistic approach to therapy, helping clients address both their physical and emotional well-being.

I hold both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Social Work, and I’m certified and trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities. In addition, I bring over eight years of experience supporting children, youth, and parents through diverse challenges, including trauma, grief, and emotional regulation.

Kamar Raad MA, RP (Q), CCC-Q

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

(She, Her)

As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), I work from a holistic perspective, drawing on Emotion-Focused Therapy, as well as humanistic and existential approaches. I believe every person has an inner wisdom that can guide them, and my role is to support clients in finding their own answers and meaningful solutions.

I have a special interest in helping people living with chronic pain and health conditions. I understand how these challenges affect not only the body, but also emotions, relationships, and one’s sense of identity. In my work, I help clients manage the emotional impact of illness, work through feelings of loss or isolation, and reconnect with a sense of meaning and purpose.

I also recognize that life brings many transitions and that our identities naturally evolve over time. I see the body, mind, and soul as deeply connected, and I believe symptoms often carry messages about areas of life that need care and healing.

I work with individuals, couples, and families to support personal growth, address relationship challenges, manage health-related stress, and navigate life transitions—helping clients build resilience, heal, and create lasting change.
